Third-degree burn – 6th day
In retrospect, I should have moved the pot to an unused burner, grabbed the lid to put out the fire, and then turn off the previous burner.
Polysporin (a Canadian antibiotic cream) was used on the burn until the skin healed up. For roughly one month, it was covered routinely with bandages. After healing, I have since used vitamin E cream for treatment.
This is one of three images of my burn. The other two images are taken 16 and 43 days after the event.
Note: Much of the burn is actually second-degree. However, I was first told it was third-degree. The firefighter, doctors, and nurses have all given different judgments.
